I’m listening to my music on your Natural Amp, Michael. I love the sound. Not only does it increase the volume, but VERY pleasantly deepens and expands the sound. You’ve put together a great listening tool and beautifully crafted to boot.

The Woods

Alder is known for its clear resonance, punch, and broad frequency range.  It is the standard body wood for Fender’s electric guitar and bass bodies. Tan and pink hues color its broader grain swirl.

Ash is a common electric guitar wood. Known for solid tone with a tight midrange, it also boasts good looks with its distinctive striped pattern.

Bubinga is a tropical African wood from the Congo Basin. Its pink color, grain, and burl patterns make it a highly desired guitar top sheet for higher end instrument bodies. It delivers a crisp and authentic tone with a balanced frequency range.

Black Walnut varies in color from tans to dark brown with wonderful grain patterns of both interwoven. Acoustically it is more dark and moody, lending itself to jazz, metal, and others.

Bloodwood is a gorgeous exotic species from tropical South America that pops in the light with deep red hues. It lends itself to the darker tonal qualities similar to Walnut.

Lacewood is a beautiful grain pattern that must be seen to be appreciated. It is an orange/brown with leopard-like printing. It is acoustically neutral.

Maple is a wonderful acoustic wood, comprising most guitar and bass necks because of it’s bright, crisp tonality and stability. It comes in “hard”, “flamed”, and “quilted” varieties. The latter of these varieties are often found on the top sheets of high end instruments as it is dazzling catching the light.

Ambrosia Maple is maple with a twist. A little guy called the “Ambrosia Beetle” bores a small hole in the tree. In doing so, it releases a fungus which stains the wood blue and tan, leaving unique palates of striking patterns.

Poplar is a blonde wood, sometimes with green highlights. Acoustically is has a bright sound, often used in electric bass guitar bodies for punch and articulation of tone. This wood lends itself to pop, rock, rap, and most latin music.

Santos Mahogany hails from Central America. Prized for its purple/red hues, its tropical oils deepen the warmer tones of jazz, reggae, and blues especially.

Purpleheart (coming soon) is a stunning exotic that, although difficult to work with, provides beautiful results. Found often on high end guitars, this variety is uniquely positioned to spark conversation! It is tonally neutral leaning towards darker tones.
