Custom Carpentry and Woodworking
Lightwave Woodworking is an Albuquerque, NM based workshop. It is the creative expression evolved from three decades of carpentry, furniture construction, and guitar building.
I love working with wood, the way it feels, smells, the grain and color. My father is a brilliant engineer and luckily some of that mojo was passed down to me. I am a sucker for clean, beautiful, and simple design.
Many of the pieces I do are things that you will never be able to find online or pre-fabricated. Unfortunately, most people see a picture without understanding the material and build quality of what they’re getting. There will always be a place for IKEA, and if that works for you, great. I prefer to build unique, custom pieces that have very specific dimensions and/or functional requirements.
The latest project is The Natural Amp, where the frequencies of sound and wood collide. Check out the entire collection, how it works, as well as the different woods used. Woods are selected based on availability and sourcing, but most importantly on their beauty and acoustic depth.
The Woodworking Gallery is anything from dining and end tables, bed frames, custom shelving and wardrobes, to pergolas, trellises, and decks. I’ve even built a southwest style chuppah for a friends wedding and a bespoke cedar steam cabinet.
For custom woodworking projects and general carpentry, investment varies based on material, time and scope. Have something in mind? Contact me and we can discuss the details and possibilities.
